An effective Project Manager is someone that truly understands how to provide leadership and makes sure the project is on time and within the required budget.
Successful Project Management is done best when the manager prepares and plans for the next stage of the project, and have a varied range of soft skills so that he or she can guide and influence project by example.
Ownership of a project is something that needs to have the correct balance when initiating a project. Good project managers will always command good ownership skills to make the project their own, simply because that is what good Project Managers do. It is important that we do not misinterpret the meaning of ownership of the project. Ownership of a project does not mean that one has to undertake all the work alone. To undertake the work alone will defeat the object, leaving you tired and will also demoralize the team.
A good Project Manager will always be delegating and involving the team at different intervals to show that they are in total control and this will also reflect confidence on your behalf. If a team sees that you have confidence they in turn will be motivated.
At Training Connection our Project Management classes give you an insight into how you can improve your project management skills. Off course the project management methodology is an important aspect for success, but we also like to include the fact that people skills are also an important ingredient for successful Project closures.
