Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I choose between a live instructor-led course and an online course?
A: We are "old school" in that we believe having a live trainer in the room is still the most effective way to learn. Just think about it. If you are learning online you are either doing a webinar or watching a self study video. Either way you have little or no interaction with the trainer. In a webinar, for example, its much harder to ask questions and more difficult for the instructor to notice if you are struggling, whereas in a classroom environment the instructor fully interacts with the students and can move around and assist students. This all contributes to a much more enjoyable learning experience. Doing a self-study online course, you have zero interaction with the instructor. If you get stuck this will lead to frustration and you are less likely to learn everything needed to master the program. Staring at a video for hours on end can also be exhausting.
Q: What is the most important thing to ask before booking a course?
A: In our opinion, the most important question to ask before booking a course is whether there will be a live trainer in the classroom. And just because a learning center has a local address that does not neccesarily mean you will be taught by a live instructor. Many training centers are cutting costs by setting up satellite offices around the country and when you arrive for your class you are placed onto an over-subscribed webinar with students from all around the country.
Q: What's included?
A: Upon completion of a class with us you will receive a certificate of course completion and a free repeat that is valid for 6 months. Additionally you will receive a reference manual that includes exercises and student files.
Q: What version of PowerPoint?
A: Our class is suitable for anyone who is using versions 2007, 2010 and 2014.
Are there any built-in templates I can use in PowerPoint?
Yes. Click on the DESIGN tab, and look for the THEMES command group. You will notice a row of boxes, which are templates. If you navigate your mouse over them, you will see a live preview of what they will look like if they are applied to your current slide. Once you find one you like all you need to do is click on it to apply it.
Don’t forget to you can also use the up and down arrows to scroll and view additional templates. And there is also an option to view more templates online which can be downloaded.
